All top CEOs publicly thanked their boards for their support of their 2016 initiatives in an exclusive survey conducted by the Association of CEA Members in partnership with Accenture. The results are published for the first time in a new study, “CEO Signature.”

According to the survey, nearly 30% of respondents indicated they have a “very high” or “high” level of gratitude towards their boards of directors, citing their support for leadership and innovation as among the reasons.
Additionally, over 55% of executives stated they have a “very high” or “high” level of gratitude towards their team members, and that support also appears to be among the reasons they tend to have a high level of gratitude towards their boards of directors.
Other highlights of the survey include:
Businesses are more receptive than ever to culture and expertise innovation initiatives, particularly their online platforms
Fewer than 9% of CEOs say their board of directors failed to support key initiatives in 2016, the lowest level in 20 years
In 2016, more than 90% of businesses do not make people part of that HR strategy
At the end of 2016, nearly 6% of CEO respondents said they were expecting a reduction in board size over the next two years, the lowest level in 17 years
