Andy Murray has just broken into the top 10 of the world rankings. And his wedding ring seems to be doing the same.
The British tennis star found the original wedding band earlier this month in the massive box he uses to transport equipment between tournaments and identified it as his engagement ring to a fan on Instagram, which has more than 12 million followers.
Murray gave advice about the ring on the photo, which has since gone viral. “The most important thing to me is that I get the ring back and I’m working as hard as I can with people who work with me to hopefully get the ring back to me,” he wrote.
Murray married his childhood sweetheart Kim Sears earlier this year, three years after breaking off their engagement in 2016 after a rough relationship. Since then he has been dating professional tennis player Nicole Gibbs, who was not in the same room as Murray when he discovered the wedding band last week.
This is all the more likely as Sears has been traveling on the circuit, having just returned from Rio De Janeiro, where she is training for the U.S. Open this summer.
